A suspected crocodile attack has claimed the life of a woman at Thibanana Village in Mukwe, Kavango East Region.
 
The incident reportedly occurred on Tuesday afternoon when 47-year-old Othilia Mandera went to fetch water from the Kavango River, just a few metres from her home. 

Popular Democratic Movement (PDM) leader McHenry Venaani said that elephants roaming in the village of Mukwe, in the Kavango East Region, have become a concern for villagers, adding that children often do not go to school as they fear for their lives.

Workers who are doing the debushing and clearing for the Andara-Shamaturu road in Mukwe, Kavango East, have stopped working after the subcontractor failed to pay them for the month of March. 

The Secretary General of the Swapo Party, Sophia Shaningwa, is calling for the distribution of national documents to the inhabitants of Maputa village in Bwabwata, Mukwe constituencies, Kavango East Region. 

This was said at a party's mini-rally held in Maputa village on Saturday.

Fumu of the Hambukushu Erwin Munika Mbambo asked NamPol's Inspector General of the Police, Lieutenant General Joseph Shikongo, why the police are not constructing a police station in Mukwe.

Fumu Mbambo said this when Lieutenant General Shikongo paid a courtesy call on him.
