The |Khomas Regional Council has stressed that it will continue to prioritise rural sanitation and hygiene to improve the living standards and quality of life for its people.

Over the past five years, the regional council has constructed over 700 toilets at a cost of N$11,3 million.

The party's manifesto promises to reduce the country's national debt, which is over 60% of the gross domestic product (GDP). 

MEFT increases compensation for human-wildlife conflict losses

The Ministry of Environment, Forestry, and Tourism has announced an increase in compensation for losses incurred in human-wildlife conflict.

Minister Pohamba Shifeta says compensation is now set at N$100,000, up from the previous N$50,000.

|Khomas Regional Council repairs police vehicles and renovates holding cells

As part of its efforts to enhance the standard of facilities and operational capabilities of police in the region, the |Khomas Regional Council took it upon itself to repair police vehicles as well as repaint and renovate holding cells. 

This is all being done at a cost of N$1.5 million.

WHK-HKIA road named Dr. Hage Geingob Freeway

The Windhoek-Hosea Kutako International Airport road has also been named the 'Dr. Hage Geingob Freeway'.
