A project aimed at supporting and advancing integrity and good governance in Namibia was launched in Windhoek today.

The project, titled Good Governance, aims to reduce corruption and bribery in all its forms in Namibia and will run from 2025 to 2028.

The project intends to provide targeted capacity-building opportunities to the Anti-Corruption Commission and its stakeholders to curb corruption.

The objectives of the project are to ensure that by 2028, the ACC and relevant institutions will have enhanced management and technical capacity to strengthen cooperation with other organizations engaged in anti-corruption efforts and to ensure that the ACC successfully implements the National Anti-Corruption Strategy and Action Plan by the same year.

The European Union has provided grant funding of $19.5 million to implement the project.

These funds will be supervised by the UNDP, which is responsible for implementing the project with the ACC.

Various speakers at the occasion described the project as a milestone in promoting good governance, fostering anti-corruption, transparency, and accountability in public entities, and restoring public trust in Namibia’s efforts to fight corruption.
