A pilot nursery project set up by the Oranjemund Town Transformation Agency (OMDis) is in the process of becoming a fully-fledged commercial production unit.

OMDis was established in 2019 to build the town's economic resilience, transcending its historic reliance on mining activities.

The Deputy Minister of Works and Transport, Veikko Nekundi, is in the ||Kharas Region to assess the progress on the Sandverhaar to Bucholzbrunn railway line rehabilitation project, including a familiarisation visit to the port of Lüderitz and engagements with TransNamib.

Exhibitors participating at the annual Oranjemund Town Transformation Agency (OMDis) Expo thanked the organisers for providing them with the opportunity to showcase some of their products and services to the community of Oranjemund in the ||Kharas Region.

"Oranjemund is ready for business." These were the words of Oranjemund Constituency Regional Councillor, Lazarus Nangolo, during the opening of the Oranjemund Town Transformation Agency's Business Information Session (OMDis). 

The Chairperson of the ||Kharas Regional Council, Josef Isaacks, has commended the Ministry of Sport, Youth, and National Service for exposing the young ones to entrepreneurship while they are in their early years.

In an effort to teach learners the importance of saving and entrepreneurship, the Minkys True Care Foundation, based at Keetmanshoop, conducted its inaugural 'Entrepreneurship and Fun Day'.

The event was attended by hundreds of learners, their parents, and guidance officials from the ||Kharas Region.

The Directorate of Education Arts and Culture in the ||Kharas Region awarded the best-performing teachers, learners, and schools with certificates after the recently released performance statistics by the Directorate of National Examinations.

The poor academic results achieved last year in the Erongo Region should motivate educators and learners to strive for better results this year.

This is according to education stakeholders who took part in the annual consultative meeting at Swakopmund.

The Agricultural Bank of Namibia (AgriBank), through its Agri Advisory Services Division, conducted a mentorship workshop for its clients at Mariental in the Hardap Region. 

The residents of an informal transit settlement area, created by the Keetmanshoop Municipality for people on the waiting list to be allocated land, commended the Namibian Government for maintaining 34 years of peace and stability.
