The Student Union of Namibia (SUN) is demanding urgent action against a school principal, who is alleged to have assaulted a learner by slapping him to the ground at the Ncumcura Combined School in the Kavango East Region. 

21 learners at Udjombala Secondary School in the Ohangwena Region are stranded at the school due to surrounding floodplains. The learners, from distant villages, began camping at the school on the 9th of this month for safety.  

A contractor has blocked a sewerage pond at Max Makushe Secondary School in the Kavango East Region due to what they regard as outstanding payments by the Ministry of Education, Arts, and Culture.

The school has since suspended classes due to sewerage overflow.
