The Deputy Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries, Water and Land Reform, Ruthy Masake, has called for a shift from exporting raw agricultural commodities domestically to create jobs. 

President Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah has urged African countries to fully implement the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA) to boost trade, industrialisation and economic growth across the continent.

Vice President Lucia Witbooi has called on African countries to strengthen economic cooperation and reduce dependence on external markets, saying Africa must take greater control over its own development and industrialisation.

Vice President Lucia Witbooi has reaffirmed government support for the green hydrogen sector.

Witbooi said this during her brief visit to the Hyphen Energy office at Lüderitz.

Through the Namibia Industrial Development Agency (NIDA), the Ministry of Industries, Mines and Energy (MIME) is advancing major industrialisation projects, including a pipe manufacturing initiative valued at N$390 million covering construction and operational phases.

The 'Sustainability Strategies in Higher Education Industrialisation towards Excellence' project is building bridges between institutions, countries and people.

The project, which is funded through the European Union, promotes national development through education and knowledge sharing.

Minister of Industries, Mines and Energy, Modestus Amutse, says the green hydrogen programme falls within Vision 2030 and the Sixth National Development Plan, with a clear objective to transition Namibia from a primary commodity exporter to a diversified, industrialised economy.

The Minister of International Relations and Trade said the report of Rapid Assessment on Value Addition and Diversification is the realisation of the eighth administration.

Selma Ashipala-Musavyi affirmed that the recommendations offer a foundation for informed decisions.

The Minister of Industries, Mines and Energy says the International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA) provides evidence-based analysis, technical assistance, policy guidance, and platforms for cooperation that are critical to Namibia's energy transition. 

Vice President Lucia Witbooi has highlighted the significance of trade fairs, by emphasising that they go beyond buying and selling.  

Witbooi shared this during the official opening of the Rundu Annual Trade Fair, noting that trade fairs empower and strengthen regional economic growth.
