NAMIBIAN TRUCK DRIVER REMANDED IN BOTSWANA DAGGA CASE

A 31-year-old Namibian truck driver, suspected of carrying dagga, is remanded in custody following a second brief appearance in the Gantsi Magistrates' Court in Botswana.

Mbaunguraije Kaitjirokere is yet to be asked to plead to a single count of cross-border drug trafficking crime.

Maunga Village man arrested for murder of Zambian shopkeeper

The police in the Zambezi Region arrested a 38-year-old Maunga Village resident from the Choi area on Wednesday night for the murder of a Zambian national at the Sinai entertainment centre. The deceased, Mike Longwani from Siboya village in Kaungamashi, Zambia, was a shopkeeper at Sinai.

Trio remains in custody over cannabis

A Namibian man, Sililo Liseho, and two Zambians, Kubonana Sikuniso and Mukuswani Mukuswani, remain in custody pending investigations after being found in possession of cannabis.

The trio was arrested over the weekend while illegally crossing into Namibia from Zambia.
