Namibia joined the rest of the world in commemorating International Widows Day, a United Nations observance held annually on 23 June to raise awareness about discrimination and hardships faced by widows globally. 

People with albinism often face challenges in various areas such as education and employment due to social attitudes and a lack of awareness. 

Discrimination and prejudice are common, as some individuals encounter negative attitudes from employers who fail to respect the rights of people with albinism.
