The Minister of Gender Equality and Child Welfare, Emma Kantema, has confirmed that over 15,000 elderly have been affected due to outdated documents and have not received pension grants for the past few months.

For two senior citizens, the suspension of their monthly pension grants has brought uncertainty and hardship.

They say the suspension was effected despite having complied with the government's verification requirements.

The Ministry of Gender Equality and Child Welfare has suspended pension grants for an undisclosed number of beneficiaries after a verification exercise found discrepancies between their records and the National Population Register.
