Residents of the Suncity location at Rundu have been without running water for months. 

They have now resorted to collecting water from the supply lines found above the ground. 

The leader of the Landless People's Movement, Bernadus Swartbooi, says Rundu is in a deplorable state. 

During a media conference, the party leadership raised a number of concerns, mainly related to the town's infrastructure and land.

One more person has died following an incident where eight people are suspected to have contracted food poisoning at Livayi Village, 155 kilometres east of Rundu.

This brings the number of dead from the incident to three. 

Overcrowding in the holding cells at the Rundu Police Station has become a matter of concern.

Station Commander Chief Inspector Heremine Muranda says they are now challenged with providing effective service delivery to the inmates.  

Naingopo Primary School in the Kavango West Region, situated over 80 km south of Rundu, is in urgent need of an infrastructural upgrade.

Community members feel that the school has been neglected for many years, with not even the bare necessities of a school.

Close to 1300 learners still need to find placement in the Kavango East Region.

Despite this, the acting education director, Christine Silima, is adamant that they will be accommodated when schools reopen next week.

As parents are preparing to send their children back to school, the caretaker of marginalised learners and students at Rundu Erica Uses is still waiting for assistance from good Samaritans to send their children to school.

Rundu-based Aqua Emergency Care Services say they are ready to attend to any emergencies in and around the region this festive season.

There are only three private ambulance services in one of Namibia's most populated towns.

Long queues for SIM card registration continue to be observed at MTC's mobile homes as the public rushes at the last minute to register their numbers.

The public was given an ample time of one year to register their numbers; however, the majority waited until the last minute.

The Ndonga Linena Green Scheme farm manager fears that an electricity outage there may affect the farms' yield for the current planting season.
