NamWater to ration water supply in north

The Namibia Water Corporation (NamWater) will ration water supply from March 7–10, 2023, due to an upgrade of the raw water pumps at the Oshakati Water Treatment Plant and distribution system.

The Old Mutual Foundation has donated N$90,000 worth of items to assist flood victims in the Oshana and Ohangwena regions.
The items include water tanks, food parcels, toiletries, and water purification tablets.
The Namibia Police (NamPol) has also been on the ground assessing the flood situation in Ohangwena Region, which is advancing towards the Oshana Region.
The Oshana, Ohangwena, Oshikoto, and Omusati regions have recorded a decline in crime-related incidents during the Christmas period.
However, those topping the chart are rape and suicide.
Two rape cases were recorded at Ohangwena on Christmas Eve.
Oshana Governor Elia Irimari says the safety of people should take center stage during the upcoming festive season as the influx of visitors has started.
