An earthquake measuring 3.3 on the Richter scale was recorded 184 kilometers southeast of Lüderitz in the ||Kharas Region.

According to a media statement issued by the Ministry of Mines and Energy, the geological survey did detect an earthquake on the outskirts of Lüderitz.

The Debmarine-Namdeb Foundation has inaugurated the seabird emergency response units at the southern towns of Luderitz and Oranjemund in the ||Kharas Region.   

A historic wooden train carriage was destroyed by fire at the Lüderitz railway station.

TransNamib spokesperson Abigail Raubenheimer confirmed that the train carriage caught fire on Sunday night. 

Workers of the Seaflower Whitefish Corporation at Lüderitz, ||Karas Region, threatened the company's management with unspecified actions over unpaid bonuses and wage increase back payments.
