Teachers at a public school in Ovitoto, a settlement south of Okahandja, say its facilities are unsuitable for learning.

The Governor of Kavango East Region, Bonifatius Wakudumo, has called on unemployed teachers to refrain from operating illegal schools.

Wakudumo says these schools will have to close their doors and allow the learners to be enrolled in formal schools as soon as possible.

The Ministry of Education, Arts, and Culture is working hard to ensure that schools have qualified teachers and counselors to provide psychological support to learners.
