Gretchen Burmeister warned that the importation of live bees could put the country's food security and biodiversity at risk.

N$1.8 BILLION AGRICULTURE MINISTRY BUDGET TO BOOST FOOD SECURITY

The Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries, Water and Land Reform, Inge Zaamwani said the budget allocated to the ministry will be used to  boost food production and ensure fair distribution of land.

The ministry has been allocated about N$1,8 billion.

STORMS DESTROY MAIZE AT UVHUNGU-VHUNGU SCHEME

Heavy rain and storms destroyed about 40 hectares of maize at the Uvhungu-vhungu Green Scheme in the Kavango East Region.

This occurred in the early hours of Tuesday. The storm started at around 1:00am and is estimated to have lasted about 20 minutes.

SWAKOP URANIUM FOUNDATION DONATES LIVESTOCK TO FARMERS

The Swakop Uranium Foundation has officially handed over more than one thousand livestock to resettlement farmers in the Erongo Region, boosting rural livelihoods and food security.

The donation is part of the Hope Farm Project, launched last year.
