Botswana's government is eyeing deriving economic benefits from a monument proposed to be built in Botswana's second-largest city in honour of the founding leaders of Namibia.

The Botswana government has approached authorities in Namibia through the Namibian Embassy in Gaborone with a view to erect a monument in honor of Namibia's founding leaders.
 

Namibia has been invited to partner with Zimbabwe and erect a monument at the complex where the Museum of African Liberation is being constructed in Zimbabwe.

President Emmerson Mnangagwa's special envoy, Simbarashe Mumbengegwi, delivered a letter in this regard to President Hage Geingob at State House.
