The port of Walvis Bay is expected to receive an extra 65 cruise liners during the period of November to January 2027.

This was brought to light by Erongo Governor Neville Andre during the State of the Region Address at Swakopmund.

The Erongo Region has reported a 5% increase in crime over the past two years.

5,070 cases were reported last year in comparison to 5,332 reported this year between the period of January and July.

Walvis Bay continues to position itself to become the transit hub for southern Africa.

The town has seen unprecedented developments in the handling of more traffic, cargo, and heavy industrial business with its new container terminal and the development of the SADC Gateway Port.

Erongo Governor Neville Andre says effective governance ensures that institutions function properly, that public officials are held accountable, and that citizens have a voice in the decision-making process.

The Chairperson of the Swapo Party's national leaders assigned to the Erongo Region, Alpheus !Naruseb, says that the party will not shy away from talking about the achievements made by the party over the past 34 years.
