Go & Register Today

Political party representatives at the coast have called on the Electoral Commission of Namibia (ECN) to increase the number of registration points for voters.

The ECN is getting ready to register voters between June 3 and August 1.

The commission called a stakeholders meeting at Swakopmund to highlight the teams' readiness.

The Regional Electoral Officer, Aune Ndaveka, announced that more than 200 registration points will be operated by 35 teams in all seven constituencies.

The ECN regional head said the suggestions will be considered, but one of the main challenges is the exorbitant prices of venues.

Another issue of concern raised is the boundaries of the Walvis Bay urban and rural constituencies.

The officers informed the stakeholders that people would be allowed to register and vote wherever they found themselves in the country for the Presidential and National Assembly elections in November.
