The Electoral Commission of Namibia (ECN) has identified 295 supplementary registration points in the Kavango East Region as preparations intensify for the upcoming Regional Council and Local Authority elections set for November.

The Electoral Commission of Namibia (ECN) is concerned about the low turnout at registration points countrywide.

So far, only 823,761 Namibians have registered to take part in the November 27 elections. The figure represents an average of 24,562 registered voters per day.

Political party representatives at the coast have called on the Electoral Commission of Namibia (ECN) to increase the number of registration points for voters.

The ECN is getting ready to register voters between June 3 and August 1.
