The 7th African Tourism Leadership Forum and Awards Summit underway in Botswana's capital, Gaborone, which focused on tourism development across Africa, noted key actions to be taken and implemented because they have the potential to improve the tourism industry on the continent.

The market, product, people, accessibility, and business support were agreed upon by participants at the forum as important elements to drive the tourism industry on the continent, given the findings that African countries are not tapping into their own markets.

A South African tourism expert who participated at the forum, Lee Anne Bac, said Africa is missing out on the world market and is not recognising the value of African travellers.
