Ozombaze Farmers' Cooperative donated food items to Omitara's Otjivero Combined School in the Omaheke Region.

The Chairperson of the Cooperative, Willem Haoseb, indicated that if all goes according to plan, they will extend assistance to community members in the Omitara settlement.

"The farm was given over with a clear business plan to uplift the lives of the inhabitants of Omitara, so we have seen the need to donate to the schoolchildren. Therefore, we are essentially fulfilling the cooperative's business plan, which aims to assist the community of Omitara. So that's how we came to assist the school—for now, only the schoolchildren. Maybe in the future we will expand our assistance to the entire community."

The school principal, Paul Nunuheb, welcomed the donation.

"Finally, they came to our help, as they have heard the call of the president, and today they are here to help us eradicate this hunger; therefore, everybody is welcome to the cream of the region."

Okorukambe Councillor Rocco Nguvauva called upon commercial farmers in the surrounding area and the business community to emulate the cooperative.

"At least my call has landed somewhere, and our people have seen that. Let's return and contribute to the school. And even for information, there is only one lady, Marina Lambert, who is always trying by all means each and every year to give something to the school, but at least now we've got someone else that is contributing, and I call upon the rest of the farmers that they can follow suit to help kids at the school to get something."

The Otjivero Combine School has 600 learners.
