The National Unity Democratic Organisation (NUDO), at its 10th national executive meeting, decided to address internal party affairs and future strategies.

The meeting on the 1st of May also discussed Joseph Kauandenge's resignation as the party secretary general to initiate a new political venture, along with other pertinent issues.

Chairperson of Nudo, Elia Kandjii, said Joseph Uapingene will now serve as acting Secretary General until a new SG is appointed.

"Yes, any political party can go through challenges, but nothing is wrong if a member wants to join, form his own association, or perhaps join another party. But therefore I say in conclusion that the party wants to enhance its mobilisation and consultations with its structures and members, and make sure that the party remains vibrant and recruits new members that maintain the status of the party."

Other resolutions include communication with elected representatives and scheduling the Party Congress.

The National Executive Committee has resolved to hold the next party congress in 2026.

This is because their focus is on the upcoming regional elections.

Kandjii urged all representatives at governance levels to regularly consult with the national leadership on matters requiring official positions and directives.

"Party governance and accountability. The NEC emphasised the need for all leadership structures to uphold accountability and provide clear party positions on matters of public interest. Leadership is tasked with leading negotiations and engagements with other political parties. The party's top leadership will continue to guide the party toward the upcoming congress."

Kandjii said the party will continue its national mobilisation efforts and engage members across all branches to address internal challenges and strengthen the party.
