Regional and local authority councils from opposition parties have been reminded to refrain from acting independently from the central government.

Minister of Urban and Rural Development James Sankwasa said no regional and local authority councils should operate in such a manner.

He made the remarks at a two-day meeting for governors, regional and local authority councillors, chief executives, and chief regional officers at Swakopmund.

They are examining, among others, the impact their policies have on service delivery to the masses.
