Namibia and Angola have committed to fast-tracking the implementation of ICT infrastructure to strengthen regional digital integration.

The commitment was made during a meeting between Namibia’s Minister of Information and Communication Technology, Emma Theofelus, and her Angolan counterpart, Mario Oliveira, on the margins of the Angola ICT Forum, which concluded in Luanda today.

The collaboration aims to bridge the digital divide, enhance cross-border connectivity—particularly roaming data—and promote economic growth through shared technology.

“Both ministers have emphasized the urgency of initiating immediate actions to improve the ICT sector.”

Angola is currently developing its ICT infrastructure through data centers, satellite systems, and fiber optic projects. Namibia has also allocated resources to upgrade its digital landscape.

The partnership is expected to create a strong digital corridor that boosts communication, economic opportunities, and technological advancement in the region.
