The leader of the Uukwambi Traditional Authority, Elenga Enene Herman Ndilimani Iipumbu, is calling on the new Oshana Governor to make tangible changes that speak to the needs of the inhabitants throughout his tenure.

Iipumbu made the remarks during a homecoming celebration in honour of 42-year-old Ipinge, who recently formed part of President Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah's pick to head the Oshana Region.

Ipinge, a teacher by profession, has been a central figure in the party and led the Swapo Party Youth League as a member of the National Executive Committee responsible for Education, Pioneer Movement, and Culture for five years.

Iipumbu delivered a message of wisdom, emphasising that leadership is a challenging role that demands vigilance, the ability to make transformative decisions, objectivity, and maintaining composure in all interactions.

"Governor, you have now become a daily source of nourishment for your people, and they will always require your guidance, advice, and other support." As your elders, we urge you to maintain composure and cultivate a strong foundation of good principles and levelheadedness. This will ensure your reign is marked with grace and victory that should be remembered not for making your people suffer but for making their lives and livelihoods better."

Ipinge pledged to be an accessible leader who will strive to work for the betterment of the region and bring its developmental agenda to the fore.

"I have accepted all your advice and guidance, and I will hold it dear to my heart. It's really not easy to head this role, but it's one I am willing to take on head-on. With this position comes a set of challenges, but I am prepared to lead the region to greater heights. But alone I cannot bring victory, as it is a collective effort; it needs all of us to attain it for our region."
