Namibia's renowned diplomat Bience Gawa!nas has earned a nomination at the 2025 Grow, Unite, Build, Africa (GUBA) Awards.

The GUBA Awards seeks to reward the innovation of African individuals and organisations in the diaspora and Africa working towards the advancement of the community.

Gawa!nas is celebrated for her trailblazing work in governance, diplomacy, and education and has been shortlisted for the GUBA Black Star: African Trailblazer in Academic and Public Service award.

From serving as UN Under-Secretary-General to becoming Chancellor of the University of Warwick, Gawa!nas has consistently championed African excellence on the global stage.

Her nomination reflects the GUBA Awards' mission to recognise and reward outstanding Africans both on the continent and in the diaspora.

Founded in 2010 by GUBA Enterprise, the awards spotlight achievements in business, leadership, arts, culture, healthcare, and education, while fostering unity, collaboration, and investment across Africa.

This year's ceremony, themed "Reclaiming Our Atlantic Destiny", will take place in Barbados.

The GUBA Awards 2025 will take place at Wyndham Grand in Barbados, from November 10th to 12th.
