Residents of Katutura Central have accused their councillor, Rodman Katjaimo, of neglecting their needs and failing to deliver on his promises.

At a heated Khomas Regional Council public information session, community members criticised the councillor's availability.

Residents also questioned the promised public Wi-Fi, pointing out that Katutura Central is the only constituency without internet access and lacking open markets.

One of the residents at the meeting lamented that "There is no area where we can sit and say, 'We have Wi-Fi here'. However, I want to express my pride in your efforts to improve the living standards of community members, particularly students. But what provisions are being made for those in the central area?"

Another resident stated that "the majority of the benefits over the past four years and eight months have been allocated solely to the Herero location. And he has said it himself. Now, I want to know, going through the three steps, is it then possible that the three structures did not see that you are disadvantaging the majority of your constituency?"

Katjaimo rejected the accusations about his availability, saying he's always available.

Concerning the provision of WiFi to the community, he said, "I said that we are going to bring Wi-Fi to Cultural Central, and we have done that. And also, we are busy, as we are speaking right now, to connect to free Wi-Fi at every school in our constituency to cover the school itself and also the neighbouring area. We are busy with that as I'm speaking right now. That's number two. Number three, I brought up another aspect of pushing people to say that if you are a leader, you must be led by the spirit of empathy, love, and compassion. Why am I saying that? I'm being called to that. I'm a combo counsellor. I contribute 10% of my salary to the community every month, which demonstrates my commitment. Even in the developed world, food banks exist."
