Green Hydrogen Commission spokesperson Jona Musheko on Monday toured renewable energy facilities in South Korea’s Jeju Self-Governing Province as part of his official visit.

Musheko visited a wind power farm where each turbine produces up to 2,000 kilowatts, or 2 megawatts, of electricity.

He said similar turbines could be installed in Namibia by Hyphen Hydrogen Energy if the company’s feasibility study, scheduled to conclude in 2026, confirms the viability of the project.

He also toured the Energy Storage System Centre, which stores electricity generated from wind turbines and converts it from alternating current to direct current.

According to Musheko, the centre illustrates how renewable energy can be integrated with green hydrogen for daily energy use.

Musheko is in South Korea to promote Namibia as a prospective supplier of green hydrogen molecules and is participating in the South Korea Policy Forum on Strengthening the Green Hydrogen Value Chain.
