As Namibians prepare for the upcoming elections, 63-year-old Godfried Kuhanga from Otjiwarongo expressed disappointment with the youth's growing reluctance to vote, urging them to take the process seriously and show up at the polls.
Speaking to NBC News, Kuhanga said Namibians should embrace the freedoms that come with independence, including the fair and powerful right to choose their leaders at the ballot box.
Today, he says, citizens are far more engaged because they now understand the importance of voting.
Kuhanga warned that for anyone to believe voting is not important is dangerous, adding that such an attitude weakens the country's ability to choose capable leaders and influence national progress.
He especially encouraged the youth to show up at polling stations, stressing that voting remains one of the strongest tools for shaping Namibia's future.
As for voting day, coming on 26 November, Kuhanga is ready.
Elections, he said, carry a responsibility that every Namibian must uphold to strengthen and protect the nation's democracy.
