Voters at Keetmanshoop have commended the electoral body for a smooth election process.
Keetmanshoop Mayor Annelize Knaus commended the team for their competency.
“I have experienced the process inside; it is quite professional. I think the staff of ECN did a good job, and it's quite competent at the moment. I don't see any irregularities in the process – for me it's good.”
Chairperson of the ||Kharas Regional Council Joseph Isaack also expressed his satisfaction during voting day.
“I encourage the residents of Keetmanshoop to not get discouraged; the process is smooth and effective. Those that are at home that say they won’t because the queues are too long, you don't want to lose the opportunity which is your constitutional right to vote; come and vote.”
A resident, Benedict Louw, believes in Namibia’s democratic system, adding that “without a vote, we are unable to clearly and decisively seek for that transformation and those wishes and aspirations.”
Another resident, Karel Burger, also encourages the youth to cast their votes.
Queues continue to grow across the two polling stations, which are for the Keetmanshoop Rural constituency in Kronlein, and the 17 polling stations for the Keetmanshoop Urban constituencies in some areas in the town.
People seem determined to exercise their democratic right.
