President Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah will hold bilateral meetings on the margins of the African Union's 39th Ordinary Session in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.
The discussions would look at strengthening Namibia's diplomatic relations and advancing development, trade and investment priorities under the 8th Administration.

The summit will take place on Saturday and Sunday, with the president expected to initially engage with the chairperson of the African Union Commission.

The Presidency said Namibia's participation in the Summit reflects its continued commitment to multilateral cooperation and advancing Africa's collective development agenda.

The gathering will bring together African leaders to deliberate on key continental priorities - ranging from peace and security to the outcome of the 2025 G20 Summit, progress in implementing the continent's Agenda 2063, and institutional reforms within the African Union.

It will also consider long-standing calls for reform of the United Nations Security Council (UNSC).
This year's theme is "Assuring Sustainable Water Availability and Safe Sanitation Systems to Achieve the Goals of 2030".

On that topic, the presidency noted the importance of water security and safe sanitation - highlighting these as critical drivers of inclusive economic growth, social development and climate resilience.

Flagship initiatives associated with Agenda 2063 include the 'Silencing the Guns in Africa by 2030' campaign - which aims to end all armed conflict on the continent.
The summit is expected to reflect on Agenda 2063 flagship initiatives.

This includes Silencing the Guns, amid ongoing concerns about instability and unconstitutional changes of government in parts of Africa.
Leaders will assess progress and explore strengthened multilateral approaches to conflict prevention and resolution.
