The two-day session follows a Senior Officials Meeting led by the Executive Directors of the Foreign Affairs Ministries of both countries.
Executive Director in MIRT, Ndiitah Nghipondoka-Robiati explained.
“Therefore, this session presents an excellent platform for our countries to assess and to review how far we have come with the implementation of the previous agreements and provide us an opportunity to review the progress of our bilateral cooperation in mining, education, tourism, trade, and investment sectors, and to explore how that continues to cooperate for the mutual benefit of our two countries. Our chair will highlight the significance of the bilateral relationship between our two countries. But trade and investment remain worrisome. Therefore, it is essential for our two countries to share experiences in vital sectors.”
Congo's Executive Director in the Ministry of International Cooperation and the Promotion of Public-Private Partnership, Siméon Ewongo, said although the two countries have made notable progress since the first JPCC in diplomatic visits, training cooperation, education, and visa exemptions, much remains to be done.
The two countries will explore areas of new cooperation, including the signing of an oil agreement between Congo's Petrofund and Namibia's Namcor.
A ministerial session will be held on Friday.
