It’s all systems go for Independence Day celebrations in Okahao, Omusati Region, with a full line-up of performances set to entertain attendees.

The Ehao Cultural Expo Centre is expected to host 15,000 people from across the region's 12 constituencies.

Omusati Governor Immanuel Shikongo expressed his gratitude to the President for decentralising the Independence Day celebrations.

Shikongo said over the years many people seldom attended the festivities in other regions. 

"It's really benefiting the majority of the inhabitants of the Omusati region. It brings a lot of opportunities, and I should start by saying we are done with most of the preparations, we have secured enough meat, food and enough of all the support we require for us to make this event a reality." 

Residents of Okahao are overjoyed.

Finance Minister Ericka Shafudah is the keynote speaker at the event.
