The Namibian Broadcasting Corporation (NBC) has announced the appointment of Menesia Muinjo as Director General, effective 1st April 2026, for a period of five years.
The announcement was made by Lazarus Jacobs, the Chairperson of the NBC Board, who expressed full confidence in Muinjo’s leadership abilities, strategic insight, and extensive experience in the industry.
"Ms. Muinjo brings a wealth of experience in media, broadcasting, and public sector leadership. She has demonstrated a strong track record in institutional management, content development, and stakeholder engagement," he said. He added that "her career reflects a deep understanding of the evolving media landscape, including digital transformation, and underscores the vital role of public broadcasting in advancing national development, fostering social cohesion, and ensuring access to information."
Muinjo, who is succeeding outgoing Director General Stanley B. Similo, currently serves as the Chief of News and Programming at the public broadcaster.
