The Landless People's Movement intends to take disciplanary action against suspended party leader Joseph Isaack.

The LPM gave notice of its intention to act against Isaak, which could include expulsion for violating the terms of his suspension.

In the notice of intention, LPM Operative Secretary Dawid #Eigub stated that Isaack continued to participate in party WhatsApp engagements and meetings concerning party affairs, while addressing media conferences dressed in party regalia while under suspension.

This according to #Eigub violates his conditions of suspension.

Isaacks was given four days to submit written reasons as to why disciplinary action should not be instituted against him.

Isaack, who formerly served as the chairperson of the ||Kharas regional council, confirmed receiving the notice, but rejected them as unsubstantiated.

He however stated that he would present reasons why he should not be suspended, to the LPM leadership.

“You know, since they have a problem, the very same people that are actually taking arbitrary decisions against me are the same who also said they will expel me. Meaning the expulsion will not be fair because it is not independent, there is no impartiality in the execution of that decision. Therefore, it is also predetermined. So if that is the case, I will definitely challenge in the court of law.”

LPM suspended Isaack in April, pending an investigation.

The suspension followed Isaack's public remarks in a local daily newspaper, accusing party leader Bernadus Swartbooi of dictatorial behavior.
