Mighty Gunners and Namibian Correctional Service (NCS) have earned promotion to the Volleyball National League after winning their respective 2026 Namibia Volleyball Federation (NVF) Cup finals at the MTC Dome in Swakopmund over the weekend.
The NVF Cup is contested by teams from regional leagues and serves as an automatic qualification route to the country's top division. This year's finals coincided with the Namibia Sport Expo, held at the venue from 1 to 3 October 2026.
In the women's final, NCS took control following a competitive opening phase to defeat DTS 3-0. The victory secured the NVF Cup title and automatic promotion, offering the squad an opportunity to test themselves at the top level and emulate their men's team, which has won back-to-back national league titles. The players marked the achievement with their signature ceremonial steps on court.
The men's final saw Southern Volleyball Association side Quiver take an early lead by winning the opening set against Otjiwarongo-based Mighty Gunners. However, Mighty Gunners responded to secure a 3-2 comeback victory, sealing the cup title and securing an immediate return to the Volleyball National League following their relegation a season ago.
