North Korea says it stands ready to deepen bilateral cooperation with Namibia beyond the historical political ties. 

That country's ambassador, Jong Song II, reaffirmed the situation following a courtesy call on President Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah at State House.

Body of Christ Party Member of Parliament, Festus Thomas, has urged President Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah to declare a state of emergency.

This follows the brutal murders of three minor Okahandja residents.

Thomas said the murder of young children is a serious issue and should not be taken lightly.

A high-level delegation from the Southern African Development Community Parliamentary Forum (SADC PF), led by its president, Tokely Justin, an MP from Madagascar, is visiting Namibia as part of the forum's efforts to strengthen regional ties and honour Namibia's leaders who have passed on.

Urban and Rural Development Minister James Sankwasa has raised concerns about succession disputes within traditional authorities. 

He raised the issue during his address at the belated independence celebration at Mukwe in Kavango East over the weekend.

The Minister of Urban and Rural Development, James Sankwasa, has said that he is ready to deal with local authorities that are misusing funds.

Sankwasa also ordered all ministries that owe local authorities to pay up.
