Since the death of Dr. Sam Nujoma on February 8, at the age of 95 in Windhoek, diplomats accredited to Namibia, gathered at the Nujoma Residence to pay their final respects.

|Khomas Governor Laura McLeod-Katjirua shared her sadness after hearing about the passing of Namibia's Founding President, Dr. Sam Nujoma, on Saturday.

While finding it hard to accept his death, McLeod-Katjirua believes "time will heal her."

A former bodyguard of the late Founding President, says he learnt invaluable lessons from the late Dr Sam Nujoma, whom he described as a remarkable leader. 

Nepando Amupanda served Nujoma from 1982, before Namibia's independence, and remained by his side until his retirement in 2005. 

Indonesia has expressed solidarity with Namibia, following the death of Founding President Sam Nujoma.

Its Ambassador, Wisnu Edi Pratignyo, conveyed the message of solidarity to President Nangolo Mbumba at State House.

Last night, the first official memorial service for Dr. Sam Nujoma took place at his home in Windhoek. Family, friends, and dignitaries gathered to honor his remarkable life and contributions to Namibia.
