The national minimum wage for all Namibian workers has increased to N$18 per hour. 

The Minister of Labour, Industrial Relations, and Employment Creation, Uutoni Nujoma, announced in a statement that the new national minimum wage will be effective from 1 January next year.

Intra-African trade remains notably low, constituting only about 16 percent of the continent's total trade, which is significantly less than 40 percent in Asia and 60 percent in Europe. 

The Chancellor of the University of Namibia, President Nangolo Mbumba, says that the inauguration of the new Wildlife Management and Tourism department in Katima Mulilo, located in the Zambezi Region, marks a significant milestone not only for Namibians but also for the SADC region.

The State of Qatar has donated 58,000 boxes of drought relief food to Namibia, valued at N$70 million, which includes transportation costs.

This donation follows President Nangolo Mbumba's declaration of a state of disaster and his appeal to international partners for assistance.

Police in Keetmanshoop have reported a tragic incident involving a local resident who committed suicide by driving his NP 300 Nissan Bakkie head-on into an oncoming truck, resulting in his death.
