The Ministry of Finance and Public Enterprises has allocated an additional N$698.8 million for drought relief provisions under the Office of the Prime Minister, primarily to extend the food distribution program to eligible communities.

The Namibia Statistics Agency (NSA) unveiled the Namibia 2023 Population and Housing Census Main Report in Windhoek on Wednesday.

According to the report, Namibia's population remains at just over three million, as was reported in the preliminary census report in March this year. 

The Minister of Finance, Iipumbu Shiimi, has announced significant tax reforms and budget adjustments aimed at supporting the economy and providing relief to taxpayers.

Finance Minister Iipumbu Shiimi's mid-term budget features a N$1.1 billion allocation to the goods and services across various government departments.

This includes a specific allocation of N$200 million aimed at supporting the Electoral Commission of Namibia (ECN).

The Namibian Police has assured the public that stringent security measures will be in place for the upcoming Presidential and National Assembly Elections.
