The Minister in the Presidency, Christine ||Hoëbes, says it remains a government priority to provide each Namibian with a decent roof over their head. 

She made this comment at the official opening of the Affordable Housing Expo.

There is an urgent need for community health workers to be deployed to Anichab, a small settlement in the Erongo Region, and to its surrounding farms.

There is only one health worker at present, covering over 10 villages.

Residents of Anichab settlement in the Kunene Region and the surrounding farms want the current clinic properly furnished.

Currently, the clinic only has a consulting room that serves over a hundred patients daily.

Challenges of open defecation and poor sanitation continue to pose health risks in rural and periurban areas. 

This was revealed by the Health Ministry during the commemoration at the Global Hand Washing and World Toilet Day at Otjiwarongo. 

The water crisis in Rundu continues unabated. 

Various households still go for hours without water every day, while some schools are still sending children home early due to the unavailability of water.
