The race for the presidency of the Namibian Football Association (NFA) between Robert Shimooshili and Patrick Kauta is expected to be highly competitive and closely contested at the Association's Elective Congress on Friday.

The Namibia Football Association's Secretary General has announced that all logistics are in place for the upcoming election of a new leadership. The much-awaited congress will mark the replacement of the second Normalization Committee appointed by FIFA.

In a closely contested election held at the Mercure Hotel earlier today, Robert Shimooshili was elected as the new president of the Namibia Football Association (NFA), defeating his rival, Patrick Kauta, by a vote of 19 to 15.

A fire broke early this morning on the first floor of the historic one-story Pupkwewitz Megabuild hardware retail shop building constructed in 1906 at Luderitz.

Local firefighters responded to the fire and managed to put it out.

Deputy Director of Democracy Building Marilyn Kazetjikuria says the Electoral Commission of Namibia's (ECN) mock voter registration in Rundu went without a glitch.
