Four murder cases have been reported to Namibian police since the start of the new year.

Zambia's Disaster Management and Mitigation Unit has successfully evacuated 54 flood victims from the Kamwala area of the Eastern Province, following flooding of the Lundazi River five days ago.

Seven rape cases, including one involving a biological father, have been reported to the Namibian police since the start of the year.

Rape incidents dominated crimes reported in the ||Kharas Region from New Year's Eve through the weekend, with police recording three separate cases.

Namibian police have reported seven suicides across the country during the New Year period.

The incidents occurred between December 31 and January 4.
