Water scarcity in Otjimbingwe and surrounding areas still persists, and community members are worried that they may spend another Christmas without water.

Community members recently convened an urgent meeting at Otjimbingwe in the Erongo Region to discuss the ongoing water scarcity.

Former Otjombinde constituency councillor and Omaheke secretary of the Swapo Party Elders Council, Aaron Marenga, was buried over the weekend in Okatuuo Village.

Marenga died about a week ago aged 65.

He served as Otjombinde Councillor from 2009 to 2015.

 The Minister of Urban and Rural Development (MURD), James Sankwasa, has received the Best Exceptional Achievement in Southern Africa in Housing and Urban Development, 2025, from the Africa Housing Awards.

 He received the award in Abuja, Nigeria, on Friday.
