The Bank of Namibia's Governor Johannes !Gawaxab's final day of service will be on the 31st of December 2025.

His departure from the Central Bank was announced by the Board today. 

The Namibian Broadcasting Corporation (NBC) has condemned and rejected the ongoing tribal, defamatory and discriminatory attacks directed at Miss Namibia, Johanna Swartbooi.

A ruling by a full bench of the Windhoek High Court has shifted the trajectory of the legal fight over the 2021 Namibia-Germany joint declaration on the 1904-08 Ovaherero and Nama genocide. 

The court has decided not to add Germany as a respondent in the case, at least for the time being.
