Namibia has reaffirmed its commitment to advancing gender equality and equity with the official induction workshop on the 3rd National Gender Equality and Equity Policy for 2025-2035.

The Erongo Regional Disaster Risk Management Committee met in Swakopmund for its second quarterly meeting, focusing on growing disaster threats such as veld fires and climate-related risks.

The Deputy Minister of Industries, Mines, and Energy, Gaudentia Kröhne, has said Namibia's long-term strategy for oil production is anchored in a balanced approach, recognising national development priorities and the global momentum towards energy transition.

The Executive Director in the Ministry of Works and Transport, Jonas Sheelongo, said Namibia is leveraging its renewable energy and green hydrogen potential to support aviation decarbonisation efforts.

He made the remark during the SADC Annex 16 Environment Workshop underway at Swakopmund.

There is a need to build networks, provide mentorship opportunities, and improve access to capital for local entrepreneurs.
