Minister of Education, Innovation, Youth, Sport, Arts, and Culture, Sanet Steenkamp, has cautioned parents against depending on untrained nannies for their children’s early learning, revealing that only 17% of early childhood development (ECD) educators in Namibia are formally qualified.

The board of directors of the Namibian Agronomic Board (NAB) held a stakeholder engagement this morning with producers and traders in the Zambezi Region. 

The Right Start Programme aims to strengthen support for young children by engaging and reaching out to caregivers, educators, policymakers, and decision-makers.

Cabinet has given the go-ahead to the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries, Water and Land Reform to implement measures aimed at reducing bycatch and protecting Namibia's marine resources.

Preparations are underway for hosting the Ongwediva Annual Trade Fair (OATF), which is set to take place from August 24 to 30, and the organisers have promised a landmark event.

A total of N$5.6 million is spent annually during the week-long trade fair.
