The Hambukushu Traditional Authority is against the proposal to have the border between the Zambezi and Kavango East regions shifted into some parts of the Mukwe Constituency. 

The Kavango East Education Directorate and stakeholders are requesting for a special school to be established in the region. 

The request was made during a consultation meeting with the Parliamentary Standing Committee on Human Resources and Community Development at Rundu.

Four schools in Kavango East's Mukwe Circuit have temporarily suspended classes due to lions roaming the area. 

Classes have been suspended for today and tomorrow; however, teachers and support staff members remain on duty. 

The Nkurenkuru and Ruacana Town Councils have stepped up cooperation between the two local authorities by renewing an existing memorandum of agreement.

The Minister of Urban and Rural Development, Erastus Uutoni, urged local authorities to refrain from collecting debt from their clients via third-party enforcers and rather educate residents on their services and their responsibilities to ensure such services remain available.

At least 24 low-income earners at Nkurenkuru's Kakuro location in Kavango West Region received houses built under the Shack Dwellers Federation (SDFN).

The project began on December 1, 2021.

Police Commander for the Kavango West Region, Commissioner Julia Sakuwa-Neo, says the police have not reacted to transport requests for drought relief with the required urgency. 

Kavango West regional leadership has called on the Disaster Risk Management Committee to look into the drought relief programme for livestock, as it disadvantages some communal farmers.

The Deputy Prime Minister, John Mutorwa, is pleased with the drought relief food distribution in the Kavango West Region.

Mutorwa embarked on a visit to all 14 regions to assess the distribution of drought relief aid.
