Residents of Havo Village in the Kavango East Region's Mukwe Constituency have been facing a water crisis since late last year. The situation is affecting both humans and livestock.

The only borehole in the village cannot cater for both humans and livestock, and as a result, animals have started to die.

The Director of Education for the Kavango East Region, Cristine Shilima, highlighted the academic challenges faced by learners from underprivileged households. She noted that these students often struggle to complete their studies due to socio-economic hardships.

Police in the Kavango West Region are on a mission to combat illegal timber harvesting and sale.

During August, at least 400 processed timber planks were confiscated. 

Before the proclamation of Kavango West as a separate region in 2013, the region had been dependent on Kavango East for some government services.

The Inland populaces of Ndiyona Constituency in the Kavango East Region have taken ownership of their own development and de-bushed about 28-kilometre roads for easy access to their villages. 

Kavango East Regional Governor Bonifatius Wakudumo also shared developments made in the health sector. 

Wakudumo shared these during the State of the Region Address in Rundu.

The Kavango East Region still calls for school infrastructure development despite progress recorded to improve teaching and learning. 

This was brought to light by the Governor of Kavango East, Bonifatius Wakudumo, during the State of the Region Address at Rundu. 

A lack of national documents may have led to the Electoral Commission of Namibia (ECN) not meeting its target in the Kavango East and West regions.

This was said by the interim president of the Action Democratic Movement (ADM), Kanyetu Kanyetu, at a media briefing at Rundu. 

Governor of Kavango West Region Sirkka Ausiku has expressed her appreciation for institutions of higher learning set up in the region.

Three years after capital projects were approved for the Kavango East by Parliament, the Ministry of Industrialisation and Trade still has little to show for it. 

The Parliamentary Standing Committee on Economics and Public Administration walked away dissatisfied from a recent visit to these sites.
