In Divundu, in the Kavango East Region, 23 low-income earners formally got their homes, which were built by the Shack Dwellers Federation (SDF).

The houses were constructed at a cost of over N$955,000 on land provided for by the Divundu Village Council in 2018 through the Namibia Housing Action Group.

The Nkurenkuru Town Council is faced with financial constraints that are slowing down the town's development process.

Mayor Gabriel Kanyanga says the pothole-filled roads at Rundu will soon be a thing of the past, as they are in the process of awarding a tender to repair them.

A faction of the Vakwangali tribe in the Kavango West Region is set to announce a new candidate to be coronated to the dispute Hompa of the Traditional Authority next week.

The faction successfully opposed the coronation of Hompa Eugene Siwombe in the High Court about eight years ago.

The Chairperson of the Kavango West Regional Council, Joseph Sikongo, calls on the Ministry of Home Affairs, Immigration, Safety, and Security to increase the staff numbers at the Nkurenkuru Home Affairs office.

The office is reportedly only operating with two staff members.

Gender-based violence is a concern in Namibia.

This was said during the launch of the 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence campaign in Kankudi village in the Kavango West Region.

The All Peoples Party (APP) is again targeting the two Kavango regions as its support base.

The national chairperson of the APP, Linus Muchila, said this during a rally held at Rundu over the weekend.

In the Kavango East Region, the festive season campaign will be conducted under the theme "serving the community with humility and dignity".

During last year's festive season, Kavango East recorded zero fatalities in road accidents but topped the pedestrian fatalities nationally.
