Grieving families buried victims of a devastating fire in Bukavu, eastern DRC, on Monday, after the blaze killed at least 29 people, most of them schoolchildren, and injured dozens.

Hundreds of mourners assembled at Oshikunda, Onavivi Village, in Ombalantu, to pay their final respects to the late Lamech Mwanyangapo, a veteran former employee of the Namibian Broadcasting Corporation (NBC).

The husband of Tanzanian President Samia Suluhu Hassan, Hafidh Ameir Hassan, was buried in Zanzibar's Kizimkazi on Monday, just hours after his death at a hospital on the island.

Hassan's burial was according to Islamic rites, and mourners included senior government, political and religious figures.

Zambia's founding president, Kenneth Kaunda's oldest daughter, Catherine, who died last Saturday while visiting her country, was buried in Lusaka on Thursday.

Former deputy mayor of Rundu, Toini Hausiku, was buried at the Mbunza Royal Cemetery at Kapako in the Kavango West Region over the weekend. 

Hausiku, who was also the widow of liberation struggle icon Marco Hausiku, died on the 19th of July in a Windhoek hospital from cancer. 

Mourners gathered at Gobabis to bid farewell to war veteran and community leader Olivia Penehafo Ueitele.

She died on 14 June, aged 97.

Hundreds of mourners gathered at Otjiserandu Village in Tsumkwe Constituency to pay their last respects to the late former governor of Otjozondjupa Region and member of Parliament, James Uerikua, and his son Venturo, who tragically died in a car accident over the Easter weekend.

Preparations are on track ahead of the memorial service and burial of the late member of Parliament James Uerikua and his son Venturo.
